Acerbis tank for the CRF 300L
After a long time, the larger tank for our 300L has finally been marketed.
The quality, the workmanship and the robustness are remarkable.
The weight is 2.239 g against 2.754 g of the original tank.
installation takes just over an hour and a half.
No particular mechanical skills are required.
First of all it is necessary to empty the tank as much as possible with a hose and a can. Remove the saddle, the front fairings and the tank. Starting from removing the four bolts, lift the tank slightly and detach the electrical connector, the breather tube and the main tube which has a connector similar to that of the pistons of the bonnets of the cars. The pressure of a finger is enough to loosen the yellow plastic part and pull the connector (see photo).
The original breather hose will no longer be needed. Included is a special valve to be mounted (see photo). I let it hang under the tank in an upright position.
Then the pump with the float and the sealing plate are disassembled and mounted in the same way on the Acerbis tank using the four bolts and washers supplied. After putting on the rubber bushings, the tank can be installed as the previous one was removed. Connect the fuel pipe, the pin and put the tank in place. All the screws you need are supplied, including the saddle sealing screw and a strip of adhesive for sealing the fairings (although I don't know how much it is needed).
The fairings are reassembled which obviously strain a little but are not mangy anyway. Clearly the black plastics that act as a protection for the coolant reservoir and as a radiator guard do not reconnect perfectly with the red plastics.
The classic screw cap is included with the tank. I preferred to buy one with a key. If you are interested, know that Acerbis produces two, one small and one large, you have to take the big one.
Having the Acerbis X-Factor handguards and turning the steering completely, only the left knob touches just a couple of mm before sending the steering to the limit, but this is due to the installation position necessary to avoid hindrance with the clutch lever (however it is not even noticeable).
The weights: with the original tank I carried with me 8,058 g (2.754 g of tank and 5,304 g of petrol) while with the Acerbis we are at 11,859 g (2,339 g of tank and 9,520 of petrol) I remind you that 1 liter of petrol weighs 0,680 gr.
Driving: I filled it up and tried a bit both on a narrow mixed road and on an uphill and downhill stretch of dirt road. The weight on the front, of course, can be felt but on the road there is no big difference, we have to redo it. Off-road, the "first" sensation is that of having the front more anchored to the ground and at the same time a little more effort is made to hold the handlebars. It is an unpleasant but expected sensation at first glance. Here, too, we need to redo the hand.
Overall I am very satisfied. I'll test it best in November on a trip between Morocco, Spain and France.

A wymieniał ktoś kierunkowskazy na ledowe np. te z AliExpress? Z tego co zdążyłem się zorientować to są dwa problemu: rozdzielone wtyczki dodatni i ujemny na dwa "connectory" z tyli oraz konieczność wymiany czegoś co się nazywa po angielsku "relay" żeby kiedy kierunkowskazy LEDowe które pobierają mniej prądu odpowiednio świeciły. Jak sobie z tym poradziliście? Gdzie w Polsce kupić ten "relay" (jaw ogóle będzie po polsku)?
